A Note About the Content

There’s a lot more life in seeking death than you might believe.

The content found in Suicide Spenders is unconventional and, yes, sometimes controversial.

There’s a lot more life in seeking death than you might believe. The media portrays suicidal individuals, especially youth, as already half-dead, half-gone. But this is simply not true. This story confronts the issue from a layered perspective, nuanced by cultural and generational factors unique to those facing mental health challenges in today’s climate.

This is not meant to be a standardized version of what mental health is like for Generation Z. It’s certainly not meant to trivialize the issue, turn it into a parody, or romanticize suicide. It’s simply the chance to hear the issue from voices that are often drowned out. We don’t all look pretty, crying in our bathroom mirrors. We’re raw, we’re angry, we find humor, we offend—and we fight back against our demons.
